How do I get rid of old UEFI entries of CentOS installations?

Post by goahead97 » 2021/04/05 07:52:29

Hello
I have old UEFI entries of old CentOS installations in an external drive. I would like to remove them. I tried by booting live a USB stick with Ubuntu 18.04.5. According to the output of efibootmgr /delete it seemed I could remove the entries but they showed up back again after rebooting. I also tried to removed them in Windows with bcdedit /delete {UUID} and it also seemed as if they got removed successfully. Nonetheless they were still there when I rebooted.

The mentioned old UEFI entries were created when I had to add a UEFI file as trusted in the corresponding UEFI menu so that CentOS could boot up alright.

Do you know how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance
