For a while I thought I caught the C-19 "bug" had ended my posting days. The lab results came back today: NEGATIVE!! More likely than not some type of allergy, as we eliminated everything else we could think of... still this sure is one hell of an allergy.
Time to get out your BUG stomping / tire kicking boots one more time. Might as well keep them polished and waxed up as we may need use of them again in the very near future!!

CentOS Alternative ‘AlmaLinux’ Beta Released for Testing
Re: CentOS Alternative ‘AlmaLinux’ Beta Released for Testing
Hi all,
I have been watching AlmaLinux since the start of the Centos 8 changes. I just installed the current AlmaLinux beta ISO on a very ordinary Dell Optiplex 3050. It felt very much like a Centos 8 install, and proceeded as expected.
Currently using kernel 4.18.0.240 . Default background is very reminiscent of MacOS Big Sur. Feels very snappy, as expected, on a 4GB PC.
The feeling is not of a beta release, but a finished and polished effort.
Kudos to the Alma Linux team!

Re: CentOS Alternative ‘AlmaLinux’ Beta Released for Testing
to be up to date, the current kernel should be kernel-4.18.0-240.10.1.el8_3.x86_64
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
