Storage issue

Post by Elliot » 2020/10/20 14:33:00

Hello, I have a big problem with my storage. As you can see, my/dev/mapper/centos-root is full and it fills up extremely quickly. I would like to know if there is a way to find the file that can do that. Thank you in advance

Since there are no details, the generic way to find this is to run

du -m -x -d 1 / | sort -n

That shows you the top level directory containing the most allocated space. Now repeat that command but change / to the name of the directory listed last in the results and keep doing that until you reach the bottom of the directory tree where most of your space is used. Now you need to review those files and see if they are required, optional or otherwise and work out what to do with them.
