In a qemu VM I yum upgrade version 7.7 (i386) alt-arch which takes me to 7.8.2003 (/etc/redhat-release). But on another VM I also upgraded Stream the same way. The kernel version matches CentOS 8.2 (4.18.0-193.10.el8.x86_64) but /etc/redhat-release still shows 8.1.1911.
This is a minor issue. I'm just a little curious why this works a little differently in 8.1?
CentOS 8 Stream version (yum upgrade)
Re: CentOS 8 Stream version (yum upgrade)
Because Stream doesn't really have a version number. It's 8.something at present but it's not the same as the any equivalent RHEL version so it cannot really be 8.1 or 8.2 or anything else.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
