Centos8 & mysql 8.0.17

Post by gokihar » 2020/05/14 13:32:47

I have a problem : fresh install of centos8 + php + mysql8 work slow as hell.
New website was tested on
deaWebServer/0.83.415 (like Apache)
Wersja PHP: 7.1.26
MySQL: 5.7.26-29 - MySQL Community Server (GPL)

and simple test was returned in : 0.0104 s

I set up centos8 on i5/16Gb ram with :
Apache/2.4.37 (centos) OpenSSL/1.1.1c mod_fcgid/2.3.9
libmysql - mysqlnd 5.0.12-dev - 20150407 - $Id: 38fea24f2847fa7519001be390c98ae0acafe387 $
PHP: 7.2.11
and the same test was returned in : 1.1038s

Its like race with ferrari without car. Any idea where to look for clues ?
I check mysql configs and nothing looks suspicious.
Is it possible that unset ssl slows down everything ? I still not configured ssl's ....

Another exaple (maybe it will help a bit?) :
From phpmyadmin I choose table :
Rows 0 - 24 (279653 total, completed in 0.0007 s.
Rows 279650 - 279652 (279653 total, completed in 11.3754 s.

Anyone have any idea where to look ?
Or maybe just switch to mysql5 ?

some questions from my side.
Was the test running on the same machine as the first test?
Is it the mysql 8.0 release from CentOS?
Have you other software or processes running and the load/ram usage/ io ... was higher at that moment?
Have you looked in the mysql-slow log?
Have you changed the mysql config or do you use some deprecated configoptions.
Have you seen something in the mysql logfile?
How do you migrate from 5.7 to 8.0?
https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en ... eries.html

I do not use php but i know that the most problems with major mysql version changes came from "forgotten" configoptions ..
