Hello,
Just found my CentOS 8 failed to boot after I unplug the network cable.
The error message is: NO carrier detected on the interface eth0
RTNETLINK answers: file exists
Anyone knows what is going on?
Regards.
Harry

Re: CentOS 8 failed to boot
That's not failing to boot, that's just telling you there is no network connection. What makes you think it isn't booting?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: CentOS 8 failed to boot

After that it show up messages:
locahost.localhostdomain dracut-initque[]: warning dracut-initqueue timeout -starting timeout script

.........
then no graphical log in screen.
if I plug in the network cable. it boot up to gnome log in.
Every time I pass kernel parameters to config net interface:
biosdevname=0 net.ifnames=0
These parameters will change the interface name to tradition one: eth0

Harry

Re: CentOS 8 failed to boot
Are you somehow booted from the network? Or did you forget to remove the netinstall DVD from the drive?

Re: CentOS 8 failed to boot
No I boot drom drive I installed to.
nothing connect to PC except a mouse and keyboard.
It could boot up with network cable plug in but failed with this post situation when network cable unplug.
I also tried my another 2 machines, I saw the same situation too.
