Hi,
If i understood, gio set... does not work in nautilus file manager.

Does it work in others file manager, like nemo ?

I am trying to install nemo, but i have some issues.

sudo dnf install nemo does not work, do not know nemo.
I have tried to add repository for nemo :
dnf config-manager --add-repo ppa:webupd8team/nemo3
and
dnf config-manager --add-repo github.com/linuxmint/nemo
but does not work.

Wait, PPA is an Ubuntu thing, you cannot add APT based repositories on an RPM based distribution like CentOS. The corresponding service for Fedora/RedHat/CentOS is COPR.

You can try

Code: Select all

dnf copr enable leigh123linux/cinnamon_el8
, but it looks like a testing repo and not guaranteed to work.

And GitHub is not a repository at all.

Adn linuxmint is not CentOS and does not use rpm packages.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!
CentOS 5 has been EOL for nearly 3 years and should no longer be used for anything!

Hi,
I have done this :
sudo dnf copr enable leigh123linux/cinnamon_el8
sudo dnf install nemo nemo-fileroller

and this default settings :
sudo xdg-mime default nemo.desktop inode/directory application/x-gnome-saved-search

even reboot, but it still gnome nautilus and not nemo...
