There is also a line about a no floppy.

The harddisks are connected to a raid controler and there are sets available. I tested it with centos-6 no problem.
Raid controller is AMCC

With a test on a normal desktop it works fine, so there might something with the hardware.

The server is a transtec rackmounted unit with 8 sata's, dvd-rom(laptop style) and floppy.
When i used dos-6 the harddriveset was available as C: after fdisk.

I tryed centos-7 but only shows "boot:" and is waiting for what????

What is the upstream check in the beginning of the log.

The raids area without any partitions, but should be found.

What I think is that your CD/DVD drive is attached to a controller that CentOS 8 has no driver for. So it boots using the BIOS code to access it, loads the kernel and initramfs using BIOS calls then switches to using the kernel drivers for disk/cd access and, bam!, no CD/DVD there any more as it has no driver for it and that's when you get the dracut-initqueue messages.

There is no mention of any SATA devices being detected in your log. No idea what an AMCC controller is, never heard of them and by the sounds of it, neither has CentOS 8. Oh, google says it has something to do with 3Ware - they were dropped in RHEL 8.

That what was noted by me when I wanted to mount the usb drive to save the bootlog.

There are raid sets.

Question: Why are dos, centos6 finding them? I made a bootable C drive with it, no problems.

When testing on a normal system Centos8 starts up with no problem.
