Where is libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0

Post by aussie » 2019/10/17 02:52:27

Hello,

I'm getting this error when I try to load Real Player

[d@localhost ~]$ realplay
/opt/real/RealPlayer/realplay.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[d@localhost ~]$

I have PowerTools, testing and playground enabled.

My Centos 7 system has these under /usr/lib
/usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0
/usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0.3612.0
/usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf_xlib-2.0.so.0
/usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf_xlib-2.0.so.0.3612.0
/usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0
/usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.2400.31

I tried a
yum install libgdk*
and it did install a couple things but not libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0

yum install libgdk*

gdk-pixbuf2-xlib x86_64 2.36.12-2.el8 PowerTools 54 k

Is there anything else I should try?

dnf provides '*/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0'
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Hi TrevorH,

Yes, that worked. Thanks. I was able to install libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0, but it just ran into another problem.
libpangox-1.0.so.0 (dnf provides '*/libpangox-1.0.so.0' doesn't find it).

I used to get pangox from repo nux. I also have another software item that requires pangox.
I tried rpmfusion, but it is not offered there.
