Hi,
I am getting below error while trying to install gparted. Any idea why it is happening ?
[root@sun1 admin]# yum -y install gparted

Error:

[root@sun1 admin]#
Not able to install gparted
Re: Not able to install gparted
This issue appears to be fixed in the latest REPL 8.1 beta, but if you don't want to upgrade entirely then you should be able to get away with just running this command instead:
For reference, I found help here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1743844
Code: Select all
dnf --enablerepo=epel-playground install gparted
Re: Not able to install gparted
Hi!
Fast and dirty solution to this polkit/parted problem:
#wget http://download-ib01.fedoraproject.org/ ... l7.src.rpm
#sudo rpm -i polkit-gnome-0.106-0.1.20170423gita0763a2.el7.x86_64.rpm
#wget https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//pac ... x86_64.rpm
#rpm -i gparted-1.0.0-4.el8.x86_64.rpm
Itis better if you recompile everything from the sources.

Re: Not able to install gparted
Only very marginally. Besides, it's all a waste of time and effort since it's in epel-playground already.Itis better if you recompile everything from the sources.
Do not install Fedora packages on CentOS.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
