Centos 8 won’t install
Well, i have tried this with the normal version and with the stremer version but Centos won’t even partition my HDD. No matter how i format it or do want it wants. Than it complains about vfat, or about all the other format options, it complained about EFI is not allowed of being named EFI so i did GPT, and even Linux HFS+ ESP but no matter what i do to please the installer, it gives me one error after the other. Strangely since Centos 7 did install even Fedora and with all the different linux, windows and hfs.efi’s in it. But Centos 8 won’t just do it on an external HDD on a iMac.

Having similar issues here. I even wiped the CentOS 7 install completely, and it still won't install. Not a great first impression of CentOS 8!

Re: Centos 8 won’t install
This isn't really the right thread for that, since you actually got through the install process.
Re: Centos 8 won’t install
When you deleted the partition with gparted, was it a child partition inside an extended partition? If so, you may need to resize the extended partition first, although that's just a guess. You could also try selecting "custom" under storage configuration and try adding partitions manually.yaomtc wrote: ↑2019/10/02 03:55:23Having similar issues here. On the grub boot menu press "e" to edit and then remove "rhgb quiet".installed centos 8 (server with gui) on hyper v, after installation completed, getting a blank black screen. installed and tried twice.
This removes the splash screen, (hopefully) giving you some text output which may help.
Re: Centos 8 won’t install
I think it was an LVM, can't remember how it was set up but I think it was just the default from CentOS 7.z23 wrote: ↑2019/10/04 06:27:25When you deleted the partition with gparted, was it a child partition inside an extended partition? Now, it's unallocated. Both GParted and part of the CentOS 8 installer agree on this. CentOS just seems to get confused on what it believes about this drive.
Could the issue be that the 293 GB of empty space is at the end of the drive, instead of the beginning? The start of the drive is a pair of Windows partitions (the first being the System Reserved partition).
EDIT: Just to be sure, I used GParted to create an ext4 partition in that unallocated space, and then told the CentOS installer to delete it. It deleted it fine, but then the same exact issue cropped up.
EDIT2: Tried moving the Windows partitions to the end. No difference.
Re: Centos 8 won’t install
I found a workaround/solution for my issue. By ensuring the USB drive was booted via legacy mode, and not UEFI, I was able to get the installer to work.
