CVE-2023-2828

Post by vvprasadj » 2023/07/29 02:44:30

Fix for CVE-2023-2828 (vulnerability with bind) has been released for RHEL on July 18, 2023.
This is not yet available for CentOS.
How much time generally it takes for CentOS to make security fixes available in mirrors?

There is a batch of updates for CentOS 7 pending. There was a delay because of a network problem within Red Hat that meant packages could not be GPG signed but this has now been fixed. The packages have now moved on to QA but are failing and need attention to find out why. Tehy are being worked on, they're just being difficult.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
