RHSA-2022:5698 - availability java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.342.b07

Post by rfirpo » 2022/07/27 12:39:46

Dear team,

how can I get info on when the updated java-1.8.0-openjdk will be released for CentOS 7?
In particular I'm waiting for v1.8.0.342.b07 to address RHSA-2022:5698.

Thanks for your help

Roger

I have asked. In future I would suggest raising bugs on bugs.centos..org for missing CentOS 7 updates as it might be quicker.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

While RH said CentOS 7 will be supported until EOL of RHEL 7, I don't expect any real effort in this respect. Rebuilds are now always delayed for a considerable time, often for a month or more. I suspect the delay will be constantly increasing until the point rebuilds are always scheduled for the future.

CentOS 7 will die a premature death soon---migrate ASAP.

They already killed centos-announce in early June.

I checked and all of java-1.8.0-openjdk java-11-openjdk and squid updates were missing and have now been built and pushed.

If you regularly have to ping people for doing what you think they should be doing anyway, you know it's over.

Also there should be a load of CentOS 7 announcements arriving at the moment. Red Hat retired a service that was in use to gather that info and no-one noticed that the announcements were not going out until it was mentioned in this thread. It's been change to use the replacement API and all the pending announcements should be on their way.
