CentOS 7 mirrors not updated

Post by kwasar8 » 2020/11/12 11:09:32

Hello,

I am trying to update my CentOS 7.8.2003.0 VM with any recent updates but I don't see any available in the CentOS 7 mirrors.

According to https://www.mail-archive.com/centos-cr- ... 06338.html there were some updates uploaded to mirrors. Unfortunately, I can't see them in mirror http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/updates/x86_64/. I've checked few other mirrors but all seems to be at the same level. It looks like "7" is still pointing to "7.8.2003".

On the other hand I see that 7.9.2009 repo was added on 2020-11-05. Does it mean that I need to point explicitly to 7.9.2009 in my repo file? Is "7" going to be updated to point to 7.9 release? Or perhaps I am missing something else here?

Thank you for your help.

The annoucements you reference are part of centos-cr-announce meaning they were added to the CR repo.

yum --enablerepo=cr update

Or wait for 7.9 to go GA soon - the content is the same.

7.9 was released today. 8-)

I do presume that the symbolic link "7" and the mirrorlist were updated at the moment of release and the symlink has not propagated to mirrors yet.

7.9 is released, but I guess no updates to 7.9 has been released.
On my system there's ~60 updates to the initial 7.8 CR release.
I guess they're just around the corner for 7.9.

As far as I am aware there was one update missing from 7.9 that was in CR and that was the -1160.2.2 kernel and that should now have been fixed. If you know of more then report it on bugs.centos.org please
