where can I get latest patches for CentOS 7.7 ?
how long it is likely to get patches for CentOS 7.7 ?

There are no patches for CentOS 7.7 and will be no more ever. The patched version of 7.7 is 7.8.

There is no 7.7, there is only 7. And the current and only supported version of 7 is 7.8. You cannot remain on 7.7 and stay secure.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

RHEL 7.7 has an option for EUS (Extended Update Support. So for RHEL 7.7 if you have EUS support option you can get patches until August 30, 2021.
my question was, if there is similar Extended Update Support for CentOS 7?

thanks for your answer,

No. You need to pay for RHEL if you want that.

Red Hat make the source available for the current version. This is what CentOS rebuilds to produce CentOS linux. Red Hat do not make available the sources that are used for EUS RHEL versions so CentOS cannot rebuild those.

Why would you want to stick to an obsolete, out of date version anyway?

hi,
I am planning to upgrade to 7.8 but there are certain 3rd party apps that have not qualified it yet...
they may still work on CentOS 7.8 but have no third party vendor support on this OS version.

thanks

I think it's time to migrate to latest centos 8 just to be sure but hoping there will be more patches in 7.

CentOS 7.8 was released April 2020.
If your vendor is serious about their CentOS support, then they must know that they must qualify 7.8 like months ago.
If your vendor lists CentOS just because they support RHEL, then they should clarify to their clients that they actually support only RHEL 7.7.

You should have a test platform, where you update CentOS 7 properly and verify that apps function.

The 8 is most likely huge step compared to keeping 7 up to date. If OP's vendor does not bother with 7.8, why would they invest to 8.2 (and soon 8.3)?
