The most recent kernel security announcement from the CentOS Errata and Security Advisory mailing list, dated Feb-5, which includes kernel-3.10.0-1062.12.1, references RHSA-2020:0375 - Security Advisory, which only cites a kernel-rt bug fix.
The question I'm faced with is why did this bug fix trigger an update to the (non-rt) kernel rpms, and whether this is a necessary update for me, given that I don't use kernel-rt.
In general, it can be difficult to ascertain 'am I affected' when following CESA announcements, so I generally apply the updates. However, rebooting machines to activate new kernels isn't something I want to do without a compelling reason.
Does anyone have an opinion about this particular security update and its relevance to non-rt kernel security?
Thanks,
Russell

Re: CESA-2020:0375
It's almost certainly the same list of fixes but the wrong RHSA number. Should be https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2020:0374
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
