What would it take for the yum--plugin-security to work in CentOS?

I understand that the CentOS repos don't have the metadata associated w/ them for the --security flag to work in yum, but what would it take to get it set up? This would be a huge value-add. For instance, i'm sure there are plenty of tech giants out there that have thousands of CentOS servers running that would embrace this.. going further, i'm sure some of them would donate time/workers to help maintain it.

For example, I work at a large cable provider and we have thousands of CentOS instances. I keep on top of the centos-announce list for security updates, but many teams don't and they fall behind.

Personally, I'd put some time into it - but unsure what it would even take to get done.. or if it could?

Thanks,
Rob

Please, before you start this conversation all over again, go and read the mailing list archives where this has been discussed to death (and back) a few times in the past.
