IGB UIO module for the DPDK installation

Post by sergey_mak » 2020/09/16 08:00:35

I try to install DPDK on CentOS 7 but it fail within IGB UIO module insertion. When I try to insert IGB UIO I get the error:

Code: Select all

## ERROR: Target does not have the DPDK UIO Kernel Module.
To fix, please try to rebuild target.

I have a look this problem in the Internet search and find that I need to use DKMS to insert a module into a kernel. In the source of the DPDK installation tar I found the IGB UIO source but for DKMS it is neccessary some dkms.conf file but it absent there. For ubuntu I fount a some specific package dpdk-igb-uio-dkms that do that. Is there any rpm exist for that in CentOS?

O may be other idea how to insert IGB UIO mdule into the kernel?

dpdk is already packaged for CentOS and in the 'extras' repo

Code: Select all

dpdk.x86_64 18.11.8-1.el7_8 extras
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!
