i8042 No Controller founf on dell R340

Post by bocah » 2021/08/31 07:23:43

hello everyone, I'm installing Centos 7.9 on a Dell Power R340 and I'm using Raid 1, but the raid controller isn't found on my Centos 7.9 OS. Has anyone experienced this error? and if anyone understands an error like this can help me to solve this error, thank you

The i8042 error is not an error and has nothing to do with this problem.

Sounds like you have an unsupported RAID controller on that machine. Does its model number start with an S like S100? Is so then it is a FakeRAID controller and you need to put it into AHCI mode and then use Linux software RAID if you need an array. If not then post the output from lspci -nn | grep -i raid from that machine.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
