Disk fail in a very strange way

Post by FlorinMarian » 2020/03/31 08:19:37

Hi guys!
I run a CentOS dedicated server with 2x SSD inside, as follow:
- Samsung 860 EVO 1TB
- Micron M550 256GB

Partitions have been created RAID1 for whole amount of Micron and rest of space mounted sa xfs or ext(i don't remember) in a folder called "backup".
Last night I don't know what happen but Samsung drive has been cleared of partitions without any point about it. I was thinking drive it's dead but Smartctl said it's fine and also I've tried to install again CentOS and drive has been shown there as expected, but without any old partition.

How can I understand this?

Thank you!

#UPDATE
I've installed "testdisk" and after looking on tutorials on google, i've recovered my partitions and now everything it's fine. What should I think? I don't know the reason of dissapearing the partitons until i've used this tool to recover them.
Thank you!
