Can't see LSI raid with MegaCLI, sas2ircu or mpt-status

Post by threefish » 2017/03/13 02:43:20

I'm running Centos 7.2:
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)
4.4.30-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64

With a LSI1064E SAS controller (IBM HS22 Blade). I've update to the most recent firmware as part of troubleshooting but they haven't released new firmware for that in years.

What I can see:

Code: Select all

dmesg:
[ 21.752213] mptsas: ioc1: attaching sata device: fw_channel 0, fw_id 5, phy 0, sas_addr 0x8f6aaa32e0b4adc7
[ 21.759805] mptsas: ioc1: attaching sata device: fw_channel 0, fw_id 4, phy 1, sas_addr 0x9068ac32e0b4adc7
[ 21.767319] mptsas: ioc1: attaching raid volume, channel 1, id 3

Can see the controller:
/proc/scsi/mptsas:
cat 4
ioc1: LSISAS1064E, FwRev=011e0a00h, Ports=1, MaxQ=277

Can see the SSD drives & controller on SCSI 4
cat /proc/scsi/scsi

SAS2IRCU: MPTLib2 Error 1

Version:

I've previously used storcli/sas2ircu on HS22V and Lenovo Flex blades. I've got a nagios script that checks the raid status by calling these utils.

Any ideas?

Google got me here in 2022. Did you ever figure out a fix for this?

I am seeing similar issues on a IBM LSI M1215 9340-8i - I even tried the binaries provided by IBM and same error; https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/sas3i ... m-system-x

My pastebin with it: https://pastebin.com/v09kuuuJ

RAID bus controller: Broadcom / LSI MegaRAID SAS-3 3008 [Fury] (rev 02) seen by lspci just fine. But no tools work to check firmware etc on TrueNAS Scale (Debian flavor OS).
