ACPI errors / warnings at booting

Post by Asky1 » 2015/04/08 12:17:45

At the time of booting I'm getting some errors related to ACPI. See the dmesg output related to ACPI

You can either ignore them (assuming linux to workaround the bugs which it usually does) or make HP fix their firmware.

I was using Ubuntu 14.04 earlier on the system. And it didn't show such kind of error then.

Then you have a third option: use Ubuntu 14.04.

Unless you come up with some real problem, this is a moot point. Allmost all bioses are buggy in one way or another, and the linux kernel has to deal with that. Details on how this is done differ between kernel versions with more recent versions having nicer and/or more workarounds.

OK I'll try and update BIOS and see if problem is solved or not.

Nope it doesn't. Looks like I'll have to live with this bug.
