what to do when installing CentOs7 wifi connection has error?

Post by DawnWood » 2021/08/04 12:10:11

I just bought the HP Elite Book computer, I have CentOs7 installed on them. I realized that neither the onboard NIC nor the wifi device is recognized. When I do the ifconfig, the only interface listed is the loop. I do not know what to do anymore. If I can't connect to wifi, I can't work. What should I do? Help me please

What's your wifi card, or what's the output from this:
lspci -nn
lsusb

Also, ifconfig only shows interfaces that are up unless you run ifconfig -a

If they are present in ifconfig -a then edit the relevant /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-$interface file and make sure that it contains ONBOOT=yes (case sensitive).
