ddrescue is a different tool to plain dd. Type dd and hit tab twice and it will show you the possible commands that start with that. It'll be called ddrescue or possibly dd_rescue.
CentOS 8 died a premature death at the end of 2021 - migrate to Rocky/Alma/OEL/Springdale ASAP.

CentOS 5 and 6 are dead, do not use them.
