I am trying to install CentOS 7 on my workstation PC:
Motherboard: SuperMicro H12SSL-NT
CPU: AMD EPYC 7502P
GPU: 4x nVidia RTX A5000 (24 GB)
RAM: 8x Kingston KSM 32RD4/32MEI
SSD: 4x Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB Nvme M.2
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 2000 G+
After successfully installing Ubuntu on the machine for some quick testing, I needed to reinstall to CentOS distribution. I am getting stuck at black screen after picking the option "Install Centos 7" from GRUB menu. I verified the installation flash disk on VM and the installation went without a problem. I already tried:
1. adding "nomodeset text" and/or "blacklist nouveau" to kernel parameters after pressing "e" in GRUB menu hovering on "Install Centos 7" option
2. same with "inst.text", "inst.vnc" (I couldnt connect)
3. picking the "basic graphical mode" in troubleshoot menu
4. trying to switch tty during the black screen with CRTL+ALT+FX (1 to 7)
All of these end with black screen. I've noted that the grub menu looks different in the VM and on my machine (adding comparison pictures).

Re: CentOS 7 Black Screen on Install
Some month ago I had exactly the same problem. Nothing helped, even nomodeset.
Finally I changed the hardware and luckily it works again. Regards Martin Zahn

Do you have more than one monitor? I got black screen (although with AlmaLinux 9 installer) on NVidia + two displays. Physically disconnected the second monitor and then got install through.

No only one monitor on the VGA Interface.

Btw, why EL7? There is under two years to eol of EL7 (including CentOS 7). It is already in maintenance phase; receives only the most critical security updates.
Both EL8 and EL9 do exist, with longer life-span.
