booting issue. dracut-initqueue[615]: Warning: dracut initqueue timeout – starting timeout scripts

Post by cdprasad » 2022/05/09 00:34:14

Hi

How do i recover from this error

dracut-initqueue[615]: Warning: dracut initqueue timeout – starting timeout scripts

I might have incorrect edited GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in /etc/default/grub instead of /boot/efi/EFI/centos/grub.cfg.

How do i recover from here ? I can get to the #dracut prompt in emergency mode.

PS: i tried to edit and delete all the lines i added by going to edit mode at the grub but that did not help.

Thanks in advance
CDP

Did you try one of the other kernels?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

There is not much you can do - option 1: edit the parameters at the grub menu prompt and fix whatever you broke. Option 2: boot rescue media (the install media has a Rescue option off the Troubleshooting menu option) and edit the grub.cfg file directly and fix it there. Option 3: reinstall.
