Hi Guys,
I am a newbie on CentOS 7 and I just installed a fresh copy of Mysql and also got the temporary password for the root@localhost but when I tried inputting the temp password it does not work. I'm pretty sure that I just missing out on something here. Below are the screenshots of the steps.
MySQL running status
Retrieving the temporary password
Inputting the temp password (using copy paste in the terminal)
Hope you could assist a newbie here. Thanks in advance.
CentOS7 : Installing Mysql 5.7 - Temporary password not working
Re: CentOS7 : Installing Mysql 5.7 - Temporary password not working
We do not ship mysql at all on CentOS 7. CentOS 7 has mariadb 5.5.68 and on that there is no root password set by default, it's unset and has to be changed.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
