Error starting binary file

Post by mkl_sis » 2021/07/30 11:53:56

Hello!
I installed the program Firebird 1.5.
But the program doesn't work.
Information in the logs: fb_inet_server : no such file or directory
file fb_inet_server : 32-bit LSB executable Intel 80386
uname -a : 3.10.0-1160.el7.x86_64
Perhaps the architecture of the system does not match?
Help me please.

uname -a : 3.10.0-1160.el7.x86_64
Run yum update to get important security updates ASAP.
I installed the program Firebird 1.5.
How? Why so old? The third party yum repo EPEL has a much more up to date copy so yum install epel-release then yum install firebird
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

You need to install the package called something like redhat-lsb-core.

But, as suggested, install epel-release, then install firebird from EPEL. If it still needs an LSB package, it should pull it in.
