sclo or rh php 7.4

Post by zoof » 2020/10/08 21:01:58

Hi all,

Is there any timeline for when php 7.4 will be added to the sclo or rh collections? I know 7.4 is available through remi and ius but I prefer to go with sclo or rh if possible.

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK, there is no rh-php74 Software Collection

In 7, lot of llibraries are missing (oniguruma...) or too old (lizip...) for 7.4

If you want a SCL, it is available in "remi" repository, with most extensions

But to run "modern" stuff, I heartily recommend to run it on modern distro (so on C8)

So there are no plans to add php 7.4 to either sclo or rh?

The only reason I care is that my Wordpress installs suggest upgrading to 7.4. Otherwise, I'm happy to run a non-modern distro if it means I don't have to configure a new VPS and move everything there.

Nobody can answer this (excepted Red Hat)

Ok, thank you! I'll just hang tight for the time being.

Any updates? `rh-php73` is now no longer supported. Is Redhat planning to make an up-to-date php available through sclo?

See https://access.redhat.com/support/polic ... hscl-rhel7

rh-php73 will be supported during all the distribution life cycle (until Jun 2024)

AFAIK no new collection planed for C7 which is now in "maintenance support 2" (so really on,ly bug fixes)

C8 already have 7.4 (and probably 8.0 soon)

That's sad but ah well. I guess I'll install it from Remi. Thank you!
