The Dreaded "Undefined references" Error Message

Post by Ramon F. Herrera » 2020/07/29 16:43:21

Hello all:

I am attempting (struggling is a better term) to build the latest PHP. Two libraries refuse to cooperate: libxml2 and sqlite3.

After hours of trial and error, I found this great solution:

Code: Select all

./configure LIBXML_CFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include LIBXML_LIBS=-L/usr/local/lib
            SQLITE_CFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include SQLITE_LIBS=-L/usr/local/lib
Which allowed me to make further progress.

Additionally, I added the filepaths as seen below:
Libraries in Question.png
Libraries in Question.png (37.29 KiB) Viewed 94 times
Alas, the problem persists:
Undefined References.png
Undefined References.png (188.99 KiB) Viewed 94 times
Now I am stuck. Help, please...

Please don't build things like php from source when there are perfectly good up to date copies in various yum repos. For CentOS 7 you have a choice of the various php versions in SCL (7.0, 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 currently), IUS (7.2, 7.3 and 7.4) and I very much suspect that Remi has even more choice than that since he's the guy that packages php for RHEL and has his own repos too.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!
