Are there any plans to have a llvm toolset 8

Post by alvaro_palma_aste » 2020/03/27 19:36:59

RedHat 7 (and CentOS 8) already provides support for CLang 8. Are there any plans to bring that into CentOS 7?

Best regards.

Can you point to the announcement about the packages for RHEL7?
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.

Not sure if this qualifies as an official announcement, but it was what I saw:

A rebuild of llvm-toolset-8.0 for 7 is available from Springdale. You can use this repo file:

Code: Select all

[SCL-core]
name=Springdale SCL Base $releasever - $basearch
#mirrorlist=http://springdale.princeton.edu/data/springdale/SCL/$releasever/$basearch/mirrorlist
baseurl=http://springdale.princeton.edu/data/springdale/SCL/$releasever/$basearch
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-springdale
The gpgkey has to be downloaded manually before you can install anything.

There's also a copr: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs ... olset-8.0/
