Postfix - Unable to send emails

Post by siteurl » 2020/03/18 08:04:33

Emails are getting stuck in queue

If we turn off firewall, emails are going.

Also service provider has confirmed that port 25 is not blocked.

Here are some error messages

(connect to aspmx2.googlemail.com[209.85.233.26]:25: Connection refused)
(delivery temporarily suspended: connect to aspmx3.googlemail.com[172.253.118.26]:25: Connection refused)

Based on that error, it seems like googlemail.com refused your connection, maybe due to spam reasons. Maybe your IP address is blacklisted or has bad IP reputation.

Your postfix config seems ok, but I don't agree with how its set, its missing lots of important items (*_restrictions).

For example, the way its setup, it allows for port 25 auth users to relay emails, something that is preferred to be limited to the submission port.

Another example, is how you've stuffed many options under smtpd_recipient_restrictions only, which don't belong there, for example blocklists are not efficient when used at the postscreen level.
