apcupsd: Self Test Did Not Complete

Post by simon_lefisch » 2020/02/07 23:10:05

Hello everyone,

I recently acquired an APC Back-Ups 1000 for free, replaced the battery (it was completely shot), ordered the USB to serial cable and installed apcupsd on my CentOS 7 serve. From what I can tell, I have it configured properly, however when I run apctest I get the error stated in the title "Test Did Not Complete". I was able to run the self test on the unit itself and it is good, but I was wondering if there is something else that I am missing or needs to be configured. Hopefully someone else has the same/similar unit and can share their config or offer some advice. Maybe I don't need to worry about it, however I just want to make sure the unit is working properly so that when an outtage happens, it shuts down my server correctly. Thanks for any advice provided.

When you replace the battery you must run a (re)calibration.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.

Thanks @Trevor, I'll calibrate this weekend and let you know if I have any other issues.
