libdrm i686 and -x86_64 conflicts

Post by p-we » 2015/05/29 10:37:43

Hello CentOS7 Friends.
I'm a new convert from ArchLinux so thanks for any help and the patience. I'm trying to install some i686 packages for a few necessities, ex, Skype, and not able to download many 32 bit deps due to the following conflict:

Code: Select all

Protected multilib versions: libdrm-2.4.56-2.el7.i686 != libdrm-2.4.56-20.intel20143.x86_64
Any ideas of how to have both coexisting on a CentOS7 machine? The intel20143.x86_64 rpm is a dep of MythTV and many AV related dep's from ATrpms and I need that. I thought about building a 32 bit rpm with a different name, such as libdrm-32, but I can't download the dep's to be able to build it so I'm sort of stuck in a loop here. Not only that, if I do build a separate i686 package, how do I get the dep's to play nice with each other and my new package?

Then you need to ask ATRpms to supply the corresponding 32 bit package. We do not support ATRpms.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Skype and MythTV and many other multimedia packages are available from the Nux Dextop repo without any dependency problems.

That would be a much better solution.
