php: symbol lookup error: php: undefined symbol: rl_on_new_l

Hey i m new with CentOS. i am trying to install php . everything goes well but when i try to run php it gives me following error

"php: symbol lookup error: php: undefined symbol: rl_on_new_line"

can someone help me with this.

Please post the output of rpm -qa 'php*'

See if yum install libedit readline helps.

I got the problem, too.
I try to reinstall php, it's the same.
But the phpinfo page is current running.

PHP 5.4.16 with CentOS 7 64 bits

Please run and post any output from rpm -Va php\*
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

Perhaps you are not running the packaged version of php. What is the result of which php?
