Hey forum
I'm using CentOS 7 with kde desktop gui.
Trying to attach a small HP printer, M404dw.
HP's Linux imaging and printing package is the go-to solution.
The hplip package in base repo is only 3.15.9, and seems quite old (circa ~ 2015 ?).
According to HP website, I need version 3.19.6 or later for this printer.
Please, what is the-right-way to install hplip >= 3.19.6 ?
TIA's

I'm not a complete idiot. There's still a few pieces missing.

If you can find the ppd file for the printer, you can often just add that to cups and have it work.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Thanks so much. Simply copying the .ppd file, then installing the printer worked as intended. Another ticket closes.
