To simplify backups of a running guest's filesystem, it would be convenient to mount it's filesystem on the host.
Is this safe, as long as I specify "-o ro,noload"?
Is it safe to mount a guest's running filesystem with "-o ro"
Re: Is it safe to mount a guest's running filesystem with "-o ro"
it is a local or remote file system?
you can´t mount a file system twice

Re: Is it safe to mount a guest's running filesystem with "-o ro"
If it's on an LVM LV then you could create an LVM snapshot and mount that r/o and then when done, just remove the snapshot. That also has the benefit of freezing the filesystem's contents while you back it up.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
