inst.dd rpm driver not found

Post by BrandonM » 2022/07/25 15:36:26

I have an updated RPM from a vendor for a network card. I'm trying to install the driver RPM via inst.dd but it's not being recognized as a valid driver rpm.

Is there a specific folder structure the rpm needs to be in for CentOS to recognize the driver upon boot up? I'm using the CentOS 7.9 minimal ISO currently to test getting the driver installed.

I boot and append inst.dd to the boot line after hitting tab to install CentOS 7.9.

I have the RPM file in an ISO that I've attached but when I select the ISO to install the RPM it states that there's no driver disks found on the ISO.

Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
