Centos-7-x86_64-DVD-2009.iso ==)> What Version is it?

Post by rharker » 2021/10/26 13:54:04

Dear Centos Forum Gurus;

I downloaded Centos-7-x86_64-DVD-2009.iso from the usf.edu mirror (unsecure BTW) ==)> I think it is the latest stable release of Centos 7 so what version is it?

7.1 or higher is what is needed by our facility in order to satisfy our licensing requirements of the software we intend to install after the OS is installed.

Thanks for your considered replies :D

It does say 2009, doesn't it? The full CentOS 7 version includes year and month:
7.0-1406
7.1-1503
...
7.9-2009

7.9 is what everyone except Red Hat calls the version they would like known as 2009 in order to try to make it look like it isn't RHEL.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
