Folders linked to Disk Usage analysis app following OS upgrade

Post by chlowden007 » 2021/04/18 05:32:29

Hello
I have just done a reasonably large OS upgrade and the result is that the GNOME is broken. Initially, my GNOME desktop had become empty and the TWEAKS desktop plugin had disappeared. I have reinstalled and reactivated that but the really strange thing is that on the desktop, whatever folder I click on opens the Disk Usage analysis app. Also, my firefox shortcut files no longer are linked to firefox but instead open the terminal. All the Places menu listings in the top left hand part of the screen, also open the equivalent folder in the Disk Usage analysis app (if I click on the Home menu, the Disk Usage analysis app opens an analysis of the Home folder).
Does anyone have an idea how I can getting this back to normal please?
Many thanks

From what to what and how?

Personal settings are within home directory. I would not use a GUI session to tweak those files (e.g. move to backup so that next GUI session creates new, default settings).

I don't see anything that cites GNOME but to be honest most of these libraries are unknown to me.

I am also getting this alarm. I do what is suggested but it does not resolve my issue

Code: Select all

You should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Allow this access for now by executing:
# ausearch -c 'ldconfig' --raw | audit2allow -M my-ldconfig
# semodule -i my-ldconfig.pp

This issue is in all the kernel versions I have on the machine.

To be honest, I don't know how to answer that question as I did not note what precise version there was before. I say it was large beacause the update was all the changes listed above, which.as is much longer than what I usually see.

I also notice that the Wastebasket no longer accepts files and when I click on it, the contents opens in Gwenview.
