Hey guys
I‘m using a CentOS Linux 7.9.2009 (Core)
I recently changed my keyboard to sg-latin1 in order to access certain keys. However i ran into a peoblem because my password contains „!“ now when i try to login no key on my computer gives out a „!“ whatever i push shift or alt ctrl it‘s not coming up..
So i can‘t access my server and i‘m lost...
Is there a way to reset the keyboard settings in another way in order to gain access again?
I can‘t even change the root password since the = symbol in the boot process also doesn‘t work

Re: Login problems with problematic keyboard
What stops you booting it up and then sshing into it?

Re: Login problems with problematic keyboard
I‘m not sshing into it, i‘m actually just using a vnc for the boot up.
I can‘t access ssh wich is a whole other problem
While using the vnc i can‘t enter my password since the -„!“ doesn‘t appear on any key

Re: Login problems with problematic keyboard
Could you explain in more detail what you did to change the keyboard setting? These setttings can be changed t the user and at the system level. The login dialog uses the system setting, not the user settings as it does not yet know which user is going to login.
Did you try with the left or the right shift key? Try using the right shift key.
Your swish layout has an extra key left of the 'Y' (which is on the key that is used for the 'Z' on a US-keyboard). This key is not present on a US-keyboard, so the extra key left of 'Y' may act as the shift key.
