CentOS 7 - 2003 - i386 - installation - Video issue

CentOS 7 - 2003 - i386 - Minimal Install ISO
Laptop - Inspirion 6000 - 32 Bit System
Video Card - ATI Radeon X300
Problem
System video goes off, pressing power button resumes the installation. This keeps repeating, cannot complete installation.
Note -
Hardware issue ruled out, Knoppix runs fine without any problems whatsoever
What i have tried -

modprobe.blacklist=radeon
inst.driver=xforcevesa
CentOS 7 i386 Installation - Video issue
at some point the video becomes crisp, looks like mode video driver is picked up and then problem of video kicks in.
what exactly can be done to ensure that the installation just displays in bare text
