Is it possible to turn off power saving but still have the screen lock after idle?

Post by johnnytacomouth » 2020/11/10 14:39:31

I'm using a VGA KVM to switch back and forth from my Windows 10 system to my CentOS 7 system. If I'm on my Windows system too long the power save kicks in on the CentOS system killing the connection to the KVM so that when I switch back to the CentOS 7 system I get a lower resolution. I need the screen to lock without losing power. I'm using an NVidia NVS 620 card with mini-display port to VGA adapters. Is there any way to turn off power saving but still have the CentOS 7 system lock it's screen after a certain idle time?
