[SOLVED] can't burn dvd+rd l disks - "read only"

I'd tried several times to burn one - despite the burner is dual layer (have burned many). I've no idea how I bought these rd l disks, but I have a short tube of them and would like to use them. Is there something I am missing?

DVD+rd? Is that a typo? DVD+RW maybe, DVD-RW also, DVD-RD, google's never heard of them.

I don't think there should be an issue with those though it's been about 10 years since I last burnt a real DVD. When I need to, I use k3b.

Well, sadly there is. All CentOS machines report them as read only. I can only surmise I've a package I failed to install or I need to adjust some setting.
