hi

i am trying to replace an nvidia gpu with a new rx5500xt amd gpu in centos7.

i found the drivers on the amd website. problem is, if i install the driver first i will lose the monitor output. if i change the gpu the box wont boot.

so, doing either first seems wrong. obviously there's a solution but could someone let me know how this is done?

thanks
michael

Reboot and press 'e' when you see the list of kernels, append a space followed by the digit 3 to the end of the kernel line and press Ctrl-x to continue. This will boot in cli mode, login there, remove the nvidia driver and install the other one. Reboot.

Thanks Trevor. I'll give that a go.
