Can't install from EPEL

Post by tennis » 2020/05/17 00:08:17

Hi,

For some reason, I cannot install EPEL support on my CentOS 7 EC2 instance. I can ping dl.fedoraproject.org, but when I try to install something from EPEL, I get the following:

Code: Select all

https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTPS Error 404 - Not Found
What am I missing?

I've changed the subject to something more descriptive. Keep in mind that many who read this forum are very busy and won't even look at non-descriptive subjects.

The silly question, have you installed the EPEL repo as mentioned on the wiki, at Assuming you've installed the epel repo as described on the wiki, https://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResou ... positories ?

We ship the epel-release package in the CentOS extras repo specifically so you can just

yum install epel-release

and not have to use massive long ever changing URLs.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.
