VSFTP configuration help

Post by Piglet » 2020/03/20 12:38:13

Hello all,

I am new to Centos (Unix in general), I'm doing an online training course but I've hit a problem.

My VM was built on an 8GB drive and I now need to copy the CentOS DVD to the /var/ftp/pub/centos7 but the DVD is 8GB.

So, I created a new disk and mounted it to /var/ftp.

I copied the required data across but the FTP server now cannot be access from the host machine.

If I unmount the drive, the ftp server works.

Yes, CentOS 7 because that's what the online course is using. Version is 7.7.1908, Kernel 3.10.0-1062.18.1.el7.centos.plus.i686
VSFTP version vsftpd-3.0.2-25.el7.i686

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

William

Try restorecon -RFv /var/ftp as root
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.

I should have known that. Thanks, it worked a treat.

Do you have 32-bit architecture "because course uses"?
The default is 64-bit arch (x86_64).
