Directory /var/log/sa

What is this directory? /var/log/sa?
What is your purpose?

[root@centos8 ~]# rpm -qf /var/log/sa
sysstat-11.7.3-2.el8.x86_64
It is the location where sysstat stores its data files.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Generally ... sar records (see man sar)

I always wondered if the sysstat package is required by CentOS. I think its installed by default in 7 but not in 8.
