Hi, My CentOS 7 was updating (yum update) and during the installing package (the first part after downloading package), my laptop turned off suddenly because of lack of the battery! Turning on the laptop again, on the starting up the CentOS stuck on the line

Code: Select all

Starting Switch Roor ...

I even can not go to the command line in rescue mode! I removed the

Code: Select all

rhgb quite
and I observed the below lines (those are not all contents but some contents that I guess is important, there were only 5 or 6 lines) at the starting time:

Code: Select all

Starting Switch Root...
received SIGTERM from PID 1
failed to execute /sbin/init, giving up. Exec format error
ACPI_WARNING \_SB_.PCI argument #4 type mismatch
failed to evaluate _DSM
Using the boot media I can access the CentOS files but I don't know what should I change to solve the issue.
Any help is appreciated

First, and most importantly, do a full backup unless you did one immediately before starting the upgrade.

Thanks and what should I do after doing full backup?

Pick an older kernel off the boot menu and see if it works.
