Customising CentOS 7 iso/DVD

Post by charan.guddu » 2019/05/07 18:48:58

Hi,
When ever I install CentOS 7.6, I am getting a different interface name called eno1 but my requirement is to get eth0 instead of eno1.
That means I want to modify the ISO/DVD image of CentOS to show eth0 after installation.
Kindly suggest.

Regards,
Charan

That's the new network naming convention and you should probably get used to it. It doesn't make any difference what the interface is called.

If you really must change it then see the FAQ, link in my sig below.
CentOS 6 will die in November 2020 - migrate sooner rather than later!

CentOS 5 is dead, do not use it.

yes it's the new (biosdev)naming, in case you really need the old one add in your cmdline, either at choice of install by TAB-ing and adding there or afterwards in your /etc/default/grub inside GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX
biosdevname=0 net.ifnames=0
if you modify your default/grub remember to grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg (or wherever your grub.cfg file is)

and you're back to eths

hope this helps :)
